How to Stay Positive During a National Lockdown

As the UK enters into a second national lockdown, we want to encourage and inspire all jobseekers to remain positive and motivated in order to keep your spirits high and to maintain the momentum when applying for jobs.

  • Stay positive – We totally understand where you are coming from, you’ve probably applied for tens to hundreds of jobs since the UK lockdown began back in March 2020. The best thing you can do is remain positive. It’s very easy to get despondent and down about the situation, but dig deep and rest assured that you will most certainly come out of the other side victorious.

  • Keep applying – We always like to inspire others and remind our clients, that your CV is a ‘seed’. Think of yourself as a Farmer, the more than you sow your quality ‘seed’ (CV) into the ground (the marketplace), then you are potentially setting yourself up for great success. By applying for the right roles matched with your skills, you will eventually reap a bumper crop, it’s inevitable, the harder you work, the luckier you become.

  • Be happy for others – In today’s culture, it’s all too easy to get envious and jealous of other’s achievements. Make the effort and time to help celebrate the success of your friends and colleagues. It’s a nice feeling to genuinely support others, you will feel great when others support you in your success, so be happy for others.

  • Be more generous – You’ve heard the saying, ‘What goes around, comes around’. We live in a world that is governed by the law of sowing and reaping. If it is within your power and ability, be sure to help those that you are able to reach with your help. Your help may come in the form of encouragement, support, being a listening ear, giving money, giving your time, working as a volunteer, anything that is selfless. Why is this important? This helps with our wellbeing and a mindset that tells us that there is more than enough to go around and share. Eventually, what you put out, will come back to you.

  • Don’t give up, ever! Quitters never win and winners, never quit!
